all updates failed to install

i just reinstalled win XP pro and evry time i got to window updates it says
12 updates are already DL and all that is needed is to click install. THen
every time it says install failed for all updates???? help

What error message are you getting exactly?

What error code is being displayed with the message (if any)

I have the same problem, only thing is i get them downloaded and then they
don't install, i got 7 items to install,
1.Microsoft Windows Journal Viewer (Windows XP)
2.Update for Windows XP HighMAT Support in CD Writing Wizard (KB831240)
3.Microsoft Corporation - Video - NVIDIA GeForce2 MX
4.Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1
5.Update for Windows Media Connect
6.Cumulative Update for Outlook Express for Windows XP (KB887797)
7.AboCom Systems, Inc. - Networking - 802.11g Wireless PCI Card
The first 5 i haven't been abel to install for about a month and the other 2
i juss tried to install yesterday. There is no error msg, it juss say's
installation of the follinw updates failed. I am all out of ideas. My system
is only 2months old runing windows xp home with sp2, and internet explorer
6.0 with sp2. I need to get most of these downloads as they are crucial to
day to day operations of my home bussiness. esp. the wireless pci card.

I have the wireless install problem aswell, downloads but installation fails!

I downloaded Update for Windows XP HighMat Support in CD writing wizard but
it won't install, no error messages, just hangs. What can I do?

I took my computer in to be serviced becuz i was not only having problems
with windows update. My computer guy said it sounded like denile of service,
which it was. I recomend taking it in for service, it may be denile of
service, my computer now works great and i have no problem with update.
