All Window updates Necessary?

I am automatically set to
receive window updates.
I received a several hours
update of microsoft office
SP3 and other related
microsoft office security updates.
I know I have Works 2002
installed in my computer, I
don't think I have microsoft office.
Am I being overfed and should I
change my settings to stop
unnecessary updates? and how do
I change my settings. First time writer.

Did your version of Works come with Word?

answer: Yes it came with Word.
I just noticed in my start menu I have
microsoft office tools,
thats interesting, I never knew I had this.
Now that I found this, I think it kind of
my makes my initial question moot.
