All Windows XP Security Update Fail!

I had a major hard disk failure and had to rebuild my Windows XP Pro
computer. This is a very large development system, running all major MS
Office applicatons. Afterin stalling XP with SP2, I attempted to use Windows
Update to download and install all required XP security updates and service
packs. All service packs installed successfully but all security updates
failed.
Any help in resolving this problem will be greatly appreciated.

Please quote the error numbers, and the KB numbers of the updates affected.
Go to Windows Update, click through to the History list, then click on the
red cross "Failed" icon in the Status column. A popup will appear (you
might have to disable third-party popup-blockers) with an 8-digit error
number.

Also, try disabling all third-party anti-virus, anti-malware, download
accelerators, or firewall applications (re-enable Windows Firewall if you
disable another one). Do the updates work now?
