I have the identical problem.
The knowledge base indicates that it is due to a registry cleanup which has
removed an essential key. This is possible because I use RegCure regularly.
The recommended MS solution is to repair the registry using regedit. They
warn that it is risky and that a backup of the registry should be made
beforehand. A detailed procedure is to be found on the
www.microsoft.com site
but I cannot find it again.
However I do not want to risk even worse problems by doing the job myself
and would like to know whether a re-insallation of Office 2003 would do the
job.
