Vista is blocking to of my programs at in the Startup folder, there is
supposed to be a setting in Defender to tell it these programs are okay.
How can I add them if they are not already listed there?

Thanks... Bob

You can't grant those programs administrator privileges automatically, by
design. You should either block them or contact the manufacturer for an
updated version, compatible with Windows Vista.

Error message when you reach the Windows Vista Desktop: "Windows has blocked
some startup programs"

Some might need to be re-installed and RIGHT CLICK on the installation.exe
and select RUN AS ADMIN.

UAC explained and a little utility to help control it.

The rest are good information sources.
