After going through activation a few too many times on the same PC, I'm going
to have to say a big "hell yes!" I didn't pay for this to blackmail me everytime I turn around. The SP1 RC1 was a sad attempt at humor I beleive. Not worth the time learning this system. I can't even begin to imagine the losses it would cost us in an engineering environment. If your computer is still under warranty, contact the manufacturer about
getting it downgraded to Windows XP, if that is possible. Otherwise, you will need to purchase a Windows XP license and do a clean install on that PC. -- Andre Blog: http://adacosta.spaces.live.com My Vista Quickstart Guide: http://adacosta.spaces.live.com/blog...3DB!9709.entry "Export" <> wrote in message news BBBF93E-D650-4C44-93D7-...>I got Vista home premium and this piece of crap thing sucks , It freezes on > me every night since I run it 24/7 , freeze when I watch movies or tv > shows > and the freaking thing freeze on me when Im playing games ! There is something else besides just Windows Vista if freezes
regularly You may have incompatible hardware, bad drivers, defective hardware etc. Contact the manufacturer of your computer. They sold and support the system. If you want your $ back, return the computer for refund or exchange. Or contact them for warranty support. Or Toshiba, Dell as well as nearly countless local shops continue to sell computers with Windows XP. -- Jupiter Jones [MVP] http://www3.telus.net/dandemar "Export" <> wrote in message news BBBF93E-D650-4C44-93D7-...>I got Vista home premium and this piece of crap thing sucks , It >freezes on > me every night since I run it 24/7 , freeze when I watch movies or > tv shows > and the freaking thing freeze on me when Im playing games ! As for this pc , I made it in Feb and bought all the parts off ncix store and
they install the parts , So everything is Vista approved and if feb isnt too long ago I will try tho I heard that since its Home vista I CANT exchange it hence the posting name . Vista boils down to a few fancy but useless things . If you got Xp be happy . |

I saw your other posts and my homebuilt PC has some very similar parts: My
video card is an NVIDIA GeForce 7900 GS and I have a TSSTcorp CD/DVDW SH-S183L SCSI CdRom Device. With that said, I'm not sure you are going to get the quick help you want in this forum because of the complexity of your issue. The easy fix would have been video drivers, but they appear to be current. Without knowing the make and model of every part (mainboard, memory, etc.) and their configuration, it could literally be anything. Since you've already suffered 10 months, you should try some big time problem determination instead of tweaking here and there. Tweaking would include things like "what is running when it locks up", "does it lock up at the same time each day", etc. 1) Back up all your data and make sure you can restore it. 2) Go back to plain vanilla factory settings (bios, no overclock, etc.) 3) Install Vista from original Microsoft Media and do not tweak 4) Don't install anything (software or drivers) except Windows Update updates If that system proves stable, put your non-Microsoft software on and see if still stable. If you are still stable, tweak away. The description of you and your system makes me think that you desire a high performance system and your system is probably tuned and well utilized. You may have some settings that work well for others, but for some reason or another your system has a component that can't handle it. Also, I assume Vista Home also has the Problem Reports and Solutions feature like Ultimate. If so, it may tell you what barfed and why. Good luck! You are looking at a tremendous opportunity or your worst nightmare, depending on how much of a hobbyist you are. ![]() "Export" wrote: > I got Vista home premium and this piece of crap thing sucks , It freezes on > me every night since I run it 24/7 , freeze when I watch movies or tv shows > and the freaking thing freeze on me when Im playing games !
