I am running win.ME. I have downloaded all the recomended Critical updates
and Service Packs. But every time I either check or let Auto update check, I
have the same 2 updates for download. KB837009 and KB828026. I ALL
WAYS DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL. But the next time i check, there they are again.
My installation History is full of these 2 updates that don't seem to
install or register..

Please help someone

FWIW, for Win ME, there's a small shortcut for 828026.....

1. Boot into Safe Mode.
2. Search for any and all WMP or WMP.DLL files and delete them
3. Re-boot into Normal Mode.
4. Re-download and install KB828026.
5. Re-boot.
6. Check to see if update was offered again - it shouldn't be - and the
later update (which prevented 828026 installing) should be offered.

Noel addressed the 828026 problem so I'll address the 837009 problem.

Is 'Outlook Express-Q823353' found in Add/Remove Programs?

WAB32.DLL are displayed here?

With your anti-virus application disabled and all OE/IE windows closed,
uninstall 'Outlook Express-Q887797' via Add/Remove Programs and reboot.

With anti-virus application and all IE/OE windows still closed, check in at
Windows Update to install 837009 and reboot.

While 887797 may be offered to you at Windows Update /after/ you install
837009, I'd instead recommend that you (re)install it manually using the
download available here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en

887797 address a few OE bugs but it's not a Critical update:
