I have nota bit of know how with fixes and all the other things you are
asking some of the people to do here, I loved windows 98 I loved windows xp,
so as soon as I heard about vista, I told my hubby to get it for my desktop,
for my birthday in Feb. I have had nothing but problems, I have tried
updates, most of them make it worst, I tried not even using my comp a few
days..lol thinking it was resting, my trashbin says now when i want to empty
it that there is 13,000 items in it, once I emptied it anyway, but then I did
a system restore so I could use my comp. to at least get my email, and what I
am most sad about is how excited I was to get this, I was playin sims 2 for
pc with xp no problems, and pogo, and iwin, and a few others, I could
download, screensavers too, and they worked, not now...sorry so long but I am
at a crossroad, next step is callin in a pc man to put back my xp. Moose

You have gone through the crossroad,(You have made up your mind!) into a
one-way dead end, XP

well this is why I feel that with vista there is just too many issues and
taking way to long, for the price it costs too, let alone the upgrades I made
for it on my desktop, and you know back in Feb, I too, would have been cross
with me for thinking like this but hey were not all great with comps, like
you must be. So glad you could help me with this issue Mick

From what I have seen, Vista is a one way street...too bad MS pointed it the
wrong way.
Because YOU like it doesn't mean everyone will.
I don't have any problems making it work 'as designed'.
I just don't like the design.
It's like "The Thing" from VW...no matter how much they spent on advertising
& marketing, they couldn't overcome the fact that it was a POS.
You can wrap a dog turd in a Baby Ruth wrapper and call it candy, but that
doesn't change the taste.

You have to go with the times; otherwise you get left behind.
Would you still like to be working with Windows 3.1?

Your computer may well not be up to the task of running Vista. For best
results, you need a good video card, a decent CPU and 1-2gb RAM. Does that
describe your computer?

Sims2 according to the Sims forum does work very well as long as the video
card is up to it.

http://thesims2.ea.com/help/detail.php?help_id=281

Pogo know that their games do not like Vista and are presumably in the
process of fixing the issues. Question Pogo about this.

Screensavers not working is a non-issue for me.

Your best bet may well be a return to XP, not because Vista is bad so much
as your system is not up to the task of running it.

You are correct, do not listen to this fanboy Mick Murphy... he
unfortunately is part of
a misinformation - propaganda vista group.

You will see that MS will extend its support for XP for many years to come.

Why? Because everyone is going from Vista to XP because Vista is a total
FLOP.

No on wants vista and for good reason.....

XP will remain the primary desktop for a very long time.
In any case just so that you know.. MS is still giving updates for windows
2000
and we are in 2007...

so as you can see Mick-fanboy is stupid, just like the OS he supports.

Another smuck to add to the long list of trolls we have in here...

Which is where Linux comes in, not Hasta la Vista, Baby.

I work with Ubuntu and XP. Ubuntu is for real work and XP is for gaming.

Get Ubuntu; otherwise you get left behind.

There is a rule in usenet that says whever mentions the Nazi or Hitler, then
he automatically loses the debate..

I do not care to win.. sp I will ask you this:

If what you say is true , then when hitler was in power and it was then the
"new thing"
everyone on earth should had follwed him because then too you would "have to
go with the times".

You do not understand that everything NEW is NOT nessisarily good...

You must choose and select your own course in life.. not be a sheep... also
called sheeple.

You have a choice....

what do you say?

Bee ee ee eeeeeeeee?

You are doing the best thing by going back to XP
like millions of other people are.....

Microsoft blundered with Vista and is paying the price...

they can control a lot, but they cannot control the feelings of disgust
someone feels
with a horrible OS like Vista.

We have the power to chose what is best. And there is no doubt XP is the
Best MS OS.
