Am I the only one who can not keep KB890830 installed?

I've been installing, reinstalling, and re re installing this update for
almost two hours this morning.
A few minutes after the install, I'll get the little SHIELD ICON in the
systry telling me new critical updates have been downloaded and lo and
behold..what's the new critical update? Why, it's KB890830 of course.

Is there any particular reason this one update doesn't want to stay?

I've run all my scanners to check for hijackers, trojans, malware,
etc....nothing. (which of course is not to say there's not really "nothing"
there...I'm just not finding it).

Forgot to share, when using Vista Updates, KB890830 is installed within
Vista's OS and automatically runs continuously; KB890830 is *not* placed in a
Folder.

Well, I don't know if it's relevant or not, but I'm not running VISTA.
I'm on XP Pro.

I just checked the "ADD REMOVE PROGRAMS" window to see when the last actual
update shows in there.

Apparently, notwithstanding the fact that I've "installed" this update now
about 30 times in the last 24 hours, I've not installed a single Windows
Update in two weeks.
At least that's what it's telling me in the add/remove software list of
installed programs (oddly, he says sarcastically, it shows all the OTHER
updates back to 2004).
