animated or"gif" prevue wideo with mouse?

i am new to "vista" . with "xp" i was able run run the mouse over the video
search page and it would animate or give you a prevue of that video before
selecting. doesn't do it now, what am i missing?
i run comcast broadband withmacafee firewall

On Vista, Windows Explorer and Windows Photo Gallery will not show animated
gif files.
Internet Explorer will show them, as well as other image programs, like
IrfanView..
