Annoying Beep - Vista

Hi all,

recently got a brand new Alienware PC, with Vista installed.

Found whilst playing Warcraft online, that sometimes when i type, the PC
actually "beeps" at me.

Several times, my character has got stuck running in a certain direction
when this beep occurs. If you press any other direction buttons he keeps
running forwards - until you press the forward button itself and it seems to
switch it off.

now it also seems to happen when im actually in Windows itself, for example
its beeped twice already during this message. Sometimes it puts my caps lock
on (but the caps lock light is off).

Anyone else experienced this? Alienware and Blizzard both think its
something to do with the sticky keys but im not sure

help?
ta

Hi,

Sounds more like a hardware error in the keyboard. It's new, use your
warranty to have it fixed.

yes that is the sticky keys...

you can take a look at some settings in the accessibility options in the
control panel

However it is strange since you have the game on top.... windows should
normally SHUT UP
and not recieve keystrokes...

I believe you just discovered VISTA BUG NUMBER 1329045093495950435

Yes thas how many it has.

Have you tried getting support from the WoW forums?

Yes, it sounds like Sticky Keys. It's normally turned on when you press
Shift 5 times...

Go to Control Panel - Ease of Access Center
Make the keyboard easier to use
See if Turn on Sticky keys is checked.

new development with this problem, had my headphones plugged in (was on
teamspeak) and the computer was still beeping. Sound definately coming from
the sound card rather than "motherboard".

The issue isn't related just to Warcraft, it has beeped at me whilst typing
on the general internet explorer page.
It's just more noticeable when i play warcraft as i am constantly pressing
keys. I did try holding one key down constantly, and it beeped every
5-8sec's, but wasn't consistent in its timing.
Also sometimes when it beeps, my character in the game gets stuck in one
direction, like the forward button is still being pressed. If i press the
forward key once more it stops.....

If i have sticky keys off, and it's not a warcraft related problem, what on
earth can it be?
