I have a Toshiba laptop with Windows Vista and a Pre Loaded Micorsoft Office
2007 on it. Well EVERYtime I boot up Word I get an Error that goes like this
"The setup controller has encountered a problem during install. Please review
the log files for further information on the error" So what does that mean
exactly. It was pre-installed on there. Does that mean it needs to be
reinstalled or is there a way to fix the issue without uninstalling?
It doesn't really inhibit the way I use word. I can still use it. It's
just annoying that it pops up every time and i never did anything to it.

Have you tried to lauch Word as an administrator?
I encountered something similar and it solved the issue.

In Word or any of the office programs, click the circle button at the upper
right, then click the options button at the bottom right of the new window.
Click resources at the bottom of the list on the right, then click the MS
Office diagnostics button. See if that will fix it for you.

Um sorry, the circle button is at the upper left, not the upper right. And
the list with "resources" is on the left, not the right. Sigh...It's been a
long day.
