Annoying Tray Icon!

Hey folks,

I'm getting the yellow exclamation mark shield tray icon with a message that
says "there are new updates ready to install. Click here to install." but
when I click the icon, it disappears and does nothing. I know it does
nothing because 10 seconds later is reappears and tells me the same thing.
It's so annoying, I really want to fix this problem, it's driving me crazy!

Any ideas where to look, who to talk to???

Please try rebooting the machine and then see if the problem goes away.
There is a known bug we already have fixed in the latest version of the
client that will be releasing soon to fix this issue.

Check in Task Manager's Processes tab.
Is there a wuauclt.exe still running?
If so take note of its PID; then look for messages
in WindowsUpdate.log generated by that PID.

Please let us know what you find out even if the messages
explain your symptom.
