Hi Gene! When I run CHKDSK /R, I get over 20 Incorrect Index Entries.
All of them say :
Index entry xxxxxxxxx.xxx in index $I30 of file 18703 is incorrect.
Where the xxxxxxxxxxx's are, each line has a different file name. The
indexes are all the same (I30) and the file number (18703) is the same
for all 20+ line items. I am experiencing a couple of annoying issues on
the laptop - but I haven't yet noticed a pattern.
I am using Vista Home Premium. The reason I used CHKDSK is that I lost
my sound. I tried to install Microsoft's Fix-It for sound, but got an
error message when I tried to install it. So, I'm attempting to fix what
I can - then contact Microsoft for additional help in installing FixIt
and getting my sound back. Apparently, losing sound with Vista (and HP
laptops) is widespread. If you can help me, it would be greatly
appreciated. Thanks...........
