I am trying to install a HP printer on Vista Ultimate.I finally got the
compatibility for to XP but now the install says I don't have administrator
rights. The user account is an administrtor user account. Tried rebooting,
short of booting computer out the door, but I can not get the HP printer to
install as I can't get past this hurdle. Auto run will not work and will not
install from the run setup.exe. Will not allow this either.

Try right clicking on the setup.exe file, and then click on 'Run as
administrator'

Go to the HP website and download Vista drivers for your printer model..
then install them.

Many HP printers will be listed there as "drivers included with MS
Vista".

Sorry MickK but that option did not work received the following message after
it did a system check:
This software cannot be installed using the 'Run as...' command. The
installation cannot continue until this is resolved.

Required Action: Click Cancel to exit this software installation. Log off
and then log on as a user with administrator privileges. (Contact your system
administrator for more information.) If there is no system administrator,
have the primary user of this computer install the software. Restart the
installation by removing and re-inserting this installation CD.

Needless to say none of these things worked. Did how ever manage to get the
Vista drivers from HP for the DeskJet photosmart 7960. But not available for
the DeskJet 930C. The laptop is used at two seperate houses with different
printers. he 7900 doesn't work 100% though as the other software could not be
installed at this stage.
Thankyou for your efforts.
