Another readyboost question

Have people tried readyboost? I am having problems starting up and I
wonder if the presence of the memory stick if causing a problem. One
of the messages talks about removing memory devices such as digital
cameras. Is it better to remove the memory stick when the computer is
turned off then to plug it in after Vista has started?
