Hi Guys

Struggling a bit with understanding the 'wheres' & 'hows' of Vista HP SR.

The first is a 'where' As in where will I find the daily SR points that are
scheduled on Task Manager? When I try and perform a System Restore the only
options I have to choose from are the ones that occur when an Update has been
performed.

The second is how do I get the daily SR points to show on my options when
performing a System Restore?

In truth I don't know if I need the daiily restore points but after using XP
in the past it's nice to have the comfort of knowing that if I have let a
change go unnoticed I can revert to a time I know the system was operating
correctly.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Yvonne

Hi,

Run SR from the start menu or search box, select the option to choose a
different restore point. In the next dialog, check the box at lower left to
show restore points older than 5 days. This should now list all available
restore points for you.

Hi Roger

Thanks for your response, the thing is it only gives me the restore points I
mentioned i.e. windows update 26/09/07 and I don't get the option to show
restore points older than 5 days. Have I got my settings wrong somewhere?

Thanks
Yvonne

Hi,

I suspect maybe you ran disk cleanup? One of the options there will be to
remove all older restore points.
