Running Premium over an 2.2 Ghz Intel processor with 1 Gb ram.
My monitor which houses a Radeon GeForce 550 video card has an issue on
startup.
The left side of the monitor is black and the right side displays a
truncated windows desktop until I hit the refresh button on the monitor panel.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

sounds like you need to change your refresh rate and/or resolution to get
the monitor to sync with picture.

Running "a Radeon GeForce 550 video card" would lead to issues on
every machine;-)

Because anyone that thinks their video card is in their monitor will
definitely have a better go of it with Ubuntu. LOL!

More like anyone dumb enough to think their video card is in their monitor
would also be dumb enough to install Ubuntu!!

I love how you people contradict each other.

The #1 complaint I hear from the MS Fanbois is how difficult and cryptic
Ubuntu is to use (they must have problems moving and clicking with a mouse).

So if that is so true, how could someone that thinks their video card is
in their monitor POSSIBLY manage to use it if, according to the MS
Fanbois, it is so difficult to use? Wouldn't it stand to reason that if
this was the case, such a person would have no hope of using ubuntu?

So which is it now?

Is it so difficult to use and install that no average user could use it,
then the above comment is bullshit.

Or is it so easy to use and install that even someone who thinks their
video card is in their monitor could manage to use it?

Pick one, stick with it and stop contradicting yourselves already!
