This is what I get:

http://tinyurl.com/2tujwt

Error code 0x800736B3

I installed all the "pre" files properly and downloaded SP1.

Bombs out.

Also bombs when I try the download via VISTA Windows upgrade.

Nothing seems to download.

Any help for this?

Thanks

Harry - did you do the registry modification prior to installing the KBs?

I would start over, run chkdsk c: /r from a command prompt with
administrative rights, run sfc /scannow with your Vista install DVD in
the drive, run disk cleanup, and defragment the HD. The last is
probably not terribly important since most have sufficient space.
remaining on the drive.

I would also try "check for updates" in the Windows Update control panel
so that WU controls the SP1 download and uses its internal validation
check to prevent a corrupted download. This might be the problem with
what you have done so far if you downloaded SP1 yourself.

Thanks. Will try everything and try to check for updates again. I have
done that, though.

Did everything on the list, generated the CBS log, have no idea what it
means. Updates runs and runs but does not download the update.
