I've updated my messenger to version 2009 (14.0.8064.206) some time ago but
just today I tried to talk (Call option) with no success.

After lots of tests I moved back to version 8.5.1302.1018 and all working
fine !!!

Is this a known problem ???

Any Idea ????

Greetings,

You're not the first to express problems with this feature where moving back to 8.5 solved
some problems.

Could you elaborate on what exactly is happening? For instance, are you connecting but not
able to hear each other? Or are you not even able to get that far?

Hi, Jonathan,

I have a problem similar to this one described. I have two computers. I
updated the messenger 2009 on one computer, but then was not able to sign in
on the other computer's messenger. It just says the service is unavailable.
I have been trying two days to no avail. Could updating one cause trouble
with another computer's. Or is there some other problem?

I have the same problem. 2 computers are able to work OK, even from Africa to
the US. However, 2 more in the US can share Webcams but not make a Video
Call. The only difference is that the 2 systems that can't do Video Call are
running Vista Business X64.

I get the exact same error message. "Messenger is not available right now.
Please try again later. (0x80ee000c)"

Here is what I am experiencing..

Scenario 1:
- Computer A (Vista, Windows Live Messenger 14.0.8064.206) in China.
- Computer B (Windows XP, Windows Live Messenger 14.0.8064.206) in China.
- IM, voice and video work.

Scenario 2:
- Same 2 computers as above... but this time Computer A is in Canada and
Computer B is in China.
- IM works, voice and video calls get the "0x80ee000c" error.

Since voice and video work on these same computers in Scenario 1 but not
Scenario 2, does this mean the problem is related to issues of: location,
distance, network speed, or firewalls?
