I found that in my Windows Information Safety Centre the Autoupdate option is
always off and it prompted me to enable it. However, when I tried to click to
enable it the system will show the autoupdate component is corrupted and
advised me to reinstall.

I have no idea how to reinstall this part of function? Can I apply SP2 again
in order to overwrite the system?

Click Start, and then click Run
Type the following command then click OK:

rundll32.exe setupapi,InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 132 %windir%\inf\au.inf

(Note that the above should be one line including the spaces).

Note: If you are prompted for the CD and and you have XP SP1 or SP2 then browse to
%windir%\Windows\ServicePackFiles\i386 or Winnt\Servicepackfiles\I386 (depending on your OS)
to complete the installation.
