To any Microsoft Developer working on Windows Update/Automatic Updates...
Get rid of the nagging restart message box or at least make it optional -
and stop it forcing a reboot after an hour or however long it is, as this has
caused me to lose data on my machine where applications did not close
properly.

It is extremely irritating if you need your machine on and have a full
screen application running and the message box pops up to prompt you to
reboot your machine as it steals the focus away from the application and then
you dismiss it and say restart later and then it goes and restarts your
machine anyway.

I'm sure that i am not the only person in the world that finds this
extremely irritating.

You can always manually turn it off, until you need it. Control Panel |
Automatic Updates, turn off will eliminate the nagging and stop the system
from rebooting.

At the first time of the nag, turn it off, then prior to rebooting ... turn
it back on.

Mark;
There are others that feel as you do.
The current solution is to change the settings in windows Update so you
control when the updates are installed:
Right click My Computer and click Properties.
Click "Automatic Updates"
Make selections as desired.

Since many updates are not fully installed until a reboot, you should be
prepared to reboot as soon as possible after installation of updates.
