Any Reports of "Leaking RAM" in Vista?

Have had Vista "Ultimate" installed for about 1 month now. After having to re-build it
at least once all seems stable at this point. Have yet to master the MCE and the digital
Video things for which I bought Ultimate, but that's to come.

I am noticing, however, that something is causing significant "RAM" leakage. While
monitoring the "CPU Usage" gadget in my sidebar, I'm noticing a consistent increase
in "Used RAM" over time, after each reboot. It seems to match the used RAM reading
I get when monitoring with the "Performance" tab inside Task Manager. I am thinking
it's one of the sidebar gadgets if not "Sidebar" itself. When I completely exit Sidebar
right after a reboot, I notice that the leakage is not as profound (eg. when monitoring
with "Task Manager" instead). Of course, rebooting clears it, and the leakage starts
all over again. The only other things running (other than Sidebar and the standard Vista
"services") are McAfee McShield 2008 (with VirusScan 2008) and Winzip 11.

Anyone having this issue or know of any reports?

Could be McAfee. It has a history of causeing problems in any system. If
you are watching your task manager you should be able to pinpoint it.

If not, try uninstalling McAfee and see if the leak is still there. My
memory usage stays around 40% total all the time so I have no reference
point to say what it could really be.

It does not appear to be McAfee. It's definitely Windows Sidebar or one or
more of the gadgets therein. I'll start Vista and then immediately exit Sidebar.
I leave everything else (including McAfee) up and running for hours, even a
day or two at a time, and the Phys. Memory (according to task mgr) doesn't
go much beyond 1.0 gig (of 3.0) used. With Sidebar and all gadgets running,
physical RAM consistently/gradually leaks to the tune of 600-700mb in a 24
hour period, thus requiring a reboot to clear it.

I guess now I'll have to test Sidebar and each gadget indivdually. I would
think that these gadgets are probably not the very best written things there
are.
