any way to set Windows Photo Gallery to allow only 1 instance?

When browsing photo groups with windows fax and picture viewer, each
new picture would replace the previous one in the program viewing
window. With windows photo gallery, each pic opens up it's own
windows photo gallery window, so I end up with a ton of opened
windows. Is there any way to change it to the way fax and picture
viewer used to be?
