I have a user who uses a terminal server box in her office, thus it has no
USB or Bluetooth connection. She bought a Dell Axim X51v and wants to synch
in our office. We have a wireless network in our office and I can synch
wirelessly because I have one that uses the old 3.8 but, from what I have
read, you are out of luck if you use 4.1. Any ideas (VPN??)?

Arch

Hi,
If you have Exchange 2003 and support OMA you can sync directly via wireless
to the server.

Wireless as in GPRS/UMTS? How about WLAN and Windows Mobile 5 devices? I
don't buy the "corporate customers don't want that feature"
cr..ehrm...argument.

Hi,
Both. You can sync whatever way you can use TCP/IP to connect to the
Exchange Server.

Yes, but my device has to be plugged in. If I want to sync abroad, WiFi
isn't an option. Or did I miss something?

Hi,
You can sync via Wi-Fi to the Exchange 2003 server if your Wi-Fi connection
is connected to the internet. That's the only requirement for any network
connection.

I have: Exchange 2003 SP2, Windows Mobile 5 (on a Qtek 9000 device). The
device is configured to sync over the internet with Exchange. Now: How and
where do I enable it to use a WiFi connection to sync with my exchange
server? You might want to have a look at

http://msmobiles.com/news.php/3856.html and
http://blogs.msdn.com/windowsmobile/...22/420884.aspx

Unless I really missed something...

Hi,
Since you sync directly to Exchange 2003, the references to ActiveSync 4.0
and 4.1 not supporting Wi-Fi sync do not apply. The lack of Wi-Fi sync
options is only a problem for users that wish to sync with their PC via
ActiveSync.

So if you can ping the Exchange server using vxutil from www.cam.com you
should be able to sync with it.

I do this with my own Exchange server and my Jasjar.
