There are some serious un-fixed networking glitches in Ultimate Vista (as
well as the rest of the versions), I think that the world is also ready for a
full blown 1 version fits all OS at a reasonable cost. I personally am not
going to justify spending $450 on an OS... DRM is killing the media and
technological industry, get rid of it... It's a shame to see Microsoft
pressured into DRM style systems that limit media playback. That’s one of the
key feature sets that make the PC so wonderful. It’s a shame to see the
increase in available versions already creating consumer confusion about
witch version... So much for consolidating and getting back to just having a
great overall OS : ( . It’s a shame I’m really not that excited about Vista
from a college student aspiring EE and a current CTO for a small startup
standpoint... I’m relatively disappointed in Vista performance wise and
feature set wise.. I guess it doesn’t matter what the consumer wants until
people realize there alternatives. I usually am excited about new OS releases
but I see this as a step in a few right directions (hardware, and
integration) and a few steps in the dark (DRM, Limited version sets) I just
wish someone over there would realize that in the end they just end up
hurting themselves. Didn’t they try something like this with Works and
Office. Just focus on one great product instead of one ok and good.
