I am unable to get speech recognition or synth working on my system with a
new Audigy4 sound card. I am trying to decide if I should return the sound
card or keep trying to get the speech tech in Vista to work.

I've got that working OK but I have a different problem - when I open
recording devices from the taskbar icon it closes immediately giving a
rundll error.
Am going to post at the Creative forums to see what they have to say.
Am using the latest drivers for Vista but it seems build 5728 has screwed
something up.

P.S. Did you use the latest 2.10.0000 drivers from Creative?

Thanks for your reply Peter. I did get the 2.0 drivers but they did not
help, I also tried the vista 5728 release without luck. Could you tell me
if you did a full install or an upgrade?. I did an upgrade from XP pro, I
think tonight I might try the clean install and see if that works. Any
advice would be great.

I wouldn't jeopardize my system by upgrading from XP. It's on a separate
partition and is an upgrade from RC-1. (It's been a Vista-dedicated
partition from the start).

I too am having problems with both my line input and microphone (inbuilt
Realtek AC97)
Funnily though, I have just installed MSN (XP download I guess) and can chat
away with no problems, but for some reason Speech Recognition fails to see
any level at all from my microphone.
