Sure. Some are, some aren't. For the most part, the posts I see about SP2
errors have to do with the base Windows install having had major problems
beforehand, which only became evident after SP2 - or hardware problems.

No harm in waiting a bit to install it, I think, as long as you have a good
firewall and are keeping all your other patches/hotfixes applied via WU.

Can you tell me why the "Auto Play" window keeps popping
up after having installed SP2?

SP2 installed on 4 custom desktops, a Dell Dimension 2350 and a Dell
Inspiron 1100 laptop. One desktop updated from WU, the other 3 updated using
the 266mb IT download. All 6 are working perfectly. Needless to say, I quite
pleased.

Before SP2 i had 16 Processes showing in Task Manager, after the
installation, now i have 22 Processes. Disabled all the services associated
with Security Centre, Firewall and Auto Update. Now i have 17 Processes
running. The one extra Process is "DCOM Server Launcher" which you dont want
to disable or set it to manual.
Other than sp2 being a resource hog and nothing impressive with its Security
Center, i feel i made the right decision installing it. And would recommend
it to others, specially novice.

Absolutely not. Others may have had no problems, but in my opinion it is a
mostly unnecessary, bug-ridden piece of junk.

Yes, very happy. I've installed it on a great number of PCs now and all of
them are working perfectly.

Reading these newsgroups is not a good indicator of how many people have
problems with SP2. You'll find that the majority of people only come here
when they have problems, so it's not unusual to see that 90-95% of threads
are posted by people with problems. This does NOT mean that 90-95% of
Windows users are having problems - in fact, the vast majority of users have
no problems whatsoever, but most of those people have no need to post here.
