What I posted was simply a supposition, and it was a reply to only Quiztar's
post.
Like many other security applications (including ZoneAlarm), your McAfee
(VirusScan? VirusScan Plus? Internet Security?) may include "protections"
which are interfering with the changes being made by Root Certificates
Update.
NB: In most cases, disabling the application does NOT disable these
"protections".
