Hi,

I'm very happy to use readyboost, but after every restart I'm a bit bothered
that I need to unplug and re-plug my usb drive to "restart" readyboost. Is
there anyway that I could make readyboost keep working even after a reboot
without unplugging my usb drive?

Thanks.

on my system (vista home premium)if i have enabled ready boost for a usb
device it will automatically use it every time i plug it in,aslong as there
is enough memory on it.You can enable this in the properties of your stick
and also configure how much memory to alocate for this

Got the exact same problem, I want to use ReadyBoost in a permanent way and
not having to unplug/replug my USB key everytime I reboot.

Here's what happening... ReadyBoost is working well on my USB key then I
reboot the PC. When Vista is up and running, I see no light on my USB key
and no "external drive" letters has been assigned to it, as if Vista didn't
detect it. I then have to unplug and replug it then a drive letter is
assigned and ReadyBoost is back.

Is there a way to tell Vista to find (and use) my USB key at startup without
having to unplug/replug it everytime ? Thanks !

Are you on an older system? I have experienced this type of functionality
before, but only on a previous system. The problem seemed to be a limitation
of either the driver or chipset.

I had same problem. My ReadyBoost is turn off when I reboot my laptop.
But I solved this problem!

My laptop bios has this options:
"USB BIOS Legacy Support."
If it is enable, my USB devices are turn on when laptop starts, if it
is disabled devices are turn on when my VISTA load.

I set "USB BIOS Legacy Support." - disable , and it solved the problem.

I think you have same problem.
