The background files seem to have been taken over by nero as they are all
showing as "nero media files" (just FYI). Jonathan Kay, your fix
("%appdata%\microsoft\msn messenger") seems to have worked although all the
default backgrounds were not immediately visable when clicking on the
backgrounds icon in the conversation window. I had to click on "more", then
they would show up. I had to click each one to make them my background
before they would all show up in the main conversation window when I click on
the backgrounds icon.

Question: Is it safe to delete all the user folders that show up when you
first
type that command in ? (there's 12 of them, and I only have three users of
messenger on this computer)..... most of them say "size:0 bytes" and
"folder:user
tile" some have a few bytes in them, but nothing shows up when I open the
folder.

Greetings,

Yes they won't be immediately visible as the backgrounds popup shows only the last four used
(since you've not used any, it shows none).

It's safe to delete the redundant folders.
