I appear offline to my contacts but I'm online

yeah, I got the same problem under Windows 7.

I been having this problem for over 2 weeks now. Could it really be a serve problem?

I think I found the solutions as I had the same problem. I had my PC and my laptop on different dates, i.e. by error I turned the date on the PC one day back. On the PC I appeared offline, and on the laptop, with the right date, i appeared online.

That means if the date on the PC is not correct, and set to the past, then one appears offline.
