application error

i have just installed msn live messenger and it installed fine but when i go
to open it is says msnmsgr.exe - application error and that it failed to
initiate properly?? click ok to terminate programme. does anyone know why
its doing this? what can i do to sort it out? in the process i have lost the
version of msngr i had that worked as it is not allowing me to restore
computer for some reason either!!
