Application Failed to Initialize

Messenger had been working fine for a few days and now when I try to run it
I get:

"The application failed to initialize properly (0xc00000022). Click OK to
terminate the application"

I have uninstalled, reinstalled, tried the BETA - nothing works.

I discovered the Live Messenger Plus add-on was messing with this. Once I
un-installed Live Plus - Messenger runs ok.
