When I was trying to share an application or use the white board function, I
get the "Error 0x80ee000c SIP Transaction timed out". Both of us are using
LINKSYS WRT54G wireless routers.

Greetings,

Generally this is due to a lack of Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) on the routers in question.
The WRT54G will support UPnP fine, although you may want to go into the configuration to make
sure it's turned on.

Additionally, if you open up a Messenger window, press Alt on the keyboard to bring up the
menubar, then Tools, then Options, then Connection category it will tell you (after a few
seconds of enumerating), if your device has been detected as an UPnP device.

Enabling UPnP and rebooting the routers worked great. Thank you very much.

I have the same error in application sharing of Live Messenger!
My router is Gigabyte GN-B41G and the "status"of UPnP on the router is as
following:
------------------
UPnP Port Mapping Table
Port Mapping usage: 5/128
UPnP Auto Delete Time: indefinite

My pc is 192.168.0.6, of course with static ip LAN and on the virtual server
of the router I have open several ports without any result!
Ports: 389, 522, 1503, 1720, and 1731

Can you help me?
Thanks in advance!

hi,

i got the experience that there are modems which have the option Upnp
enabled,
but Upnp is still not working. (speedtouch, siemens). Even an update didn't
solve
the problem.
After installing a newer type modem, everything worked fine.

Greetings,

Actually the detector in Messenger is very unreliable, regularly my router ends up being
reported as "non-UPnP" almost at random. However, UPnP is still working and Messenger is
still making use of it. Unless you have a specific problem with Messenger, you can just
ignore this.

Maybe this may have your interest: there is a program called: up&p test
program.
This i took as a second opinion, and found that the modem was not working
well
