Hi

Been having this problem the last couple of months and not sure how/what to
do to fix it, i am running windows vista ultimate swedish version, computer
specs is
Amd 5600+ X2 on a MSI K9N diamond 590 Sli motherboard
Nividia 8800gtx (gainward)
4 gig memory ( Kingston DDR2 HyperX PC6400 )
2 * 750 gig drives not in raid config (Seagate barracuda)

Some of the software i have installed are office 2007 pro, visual studio
2005 pro, Lightwave 3D 9.3, DB2 9.1 and a load of games

Sometimes you get a small pop up that an application has stopped working and
i have 2 choices, close it or load it in debugger (guess thanks to visual
studio being installed) if i press close the computer goes into blue screen
everytime, when using the debugger it tend to do so as well since i just
can't seem to terminate the application without a bsod.

This started happening a few months ago, not sure as to why, i do use the
computer a lot so a lot of things are being installed/uninstalled i recently
upgraded the bios on the motherboard, graphics drivers are updated and so is
the system device drivers(downloaded from msi) seems it did not help.

Unfortunately i haven't saved the blue screen info, just getting frustrated
that it happened again so i reset the computer but my c:\windows\minidump
seems empty

Anyone have any experience with this problem?

/Regards Berth

The first place I'd look is for stability of your hardware. When you
upgraded your BIOS, did you clear the CMOS? That's a commonly overlooked,
but critical part, of BIOS upgrades.
Next, I'd check for stability of the system using Prime95 or memtest. you
should be able to run Prime95 for several hours without it stopping.
If this doesn't help, also post if you are getting this only when running
specific applications, or if this happens with anything, even if idle.

Hi and thanks for replying

I had the problems before the bios upgrade so that alone is not the cause,
when i started the computer this morning one application (db2) experienced a
problem then when i closed that message i got a blue screen after power off
and restart the camera application messed up and another blue screen will
try memtest and/or prime95.

I have no trouble running stuff like anarchy online even 2 sessions at once
but guess the memory could still be faulty.
