Applying a standard font AND a standard stationary

Both apart is quite straightforwad. Go to Options and select which you
desire. But I am NOT able to achieve both.

Tried two approaches:

First I made a BMP-file with my signature and logo and used the stationary
wizard to put that on left bottom of my messages. In the wizard I can also
change the font and size. Easily done. But ... when I compose a mail the
bitmap doesn't go down with the text which makes this approach quite useless.

Secondly I made a HTM-document with Word and again placed my signature and
logo on the bottom. In Mail itself I tell to use font Calibri 12. The
HTML-text scrolls nicely down when I compose a mail but it KEEPS typing in
dull times New Roman 12.

The 2nd approach is closest to what I desire apart from the font.

Maybe there is a 3rd approach which I haven't found. Maybe there is a simple
solution.

Anyway ... seems I can use a bit of help here.

You don't want to use a bmp. A bmp is 20 X larger than a jpg and generates
a huge amount of wasted size that way.

Second, you might want to learn some HTML programming to understand how to
do what you are trying to do. I don't know what KEEPS typing. As far as I
know, only the person typing is what keeps typing and not anything else in
the message, unless you have an animation running. You might try setting
the font using the Formatting toolbar to type in that font and set the font
in the signature in Word (if you have to use Word for it) to that font as
well.

Maybe I should've tried a JPG in stead of a bitmap and maybe I will try
that. But that was not my problem. All I want is to write my email with a
font of my choice and signed with my name and a picture at the bottom.

If I have to use HTML for it I can. I have just enough knowledge for it to
do some simple things as changing a font and including a picture. Do you
suggest that this indeed would solve my problem? Then where sould I use
that? In the signature in Options?

Yours truly

Anton - I think we're just not understanding some of the description you've
used in your posting . . . . .

1 - What do you mean by, "when I compose a mail the bitmap doesn't go down
with the text" - what does 'goes down' mean ???

2 - And this whole sentence is unclear exactly, "The HTML-text scrolls
nicely down when I compose a mail but it KEEPS typing in dull times New
Roman 12." - What do you mean the HTML text 'scrolls down nicely' . . . but
it 'keeps typing' in dull TNR-12 ??? I you are composing, typing the body
of your message, and you are using the desired Calibri 12 font (working
nicely) what is scrolling and continuing to type in TNR-12?

Your signature file is presumably fine, as you designed it in Word, and is
just an inserted file (or however you're putting it in there - copy /
paste).

So what exactly are you talking about in those other two things I pointed
out.

It sounds like you want a signature. Why would you use the
stationery wizard? As far as fonts go, if someone doesn't
have Calibri 12, they will not see Calibri 12 when they receive
the email. I don't have that font. You are better off with
"standard" fonts. Arial/Times New Roman/Verdana/Comic
Sans MS. There are a few more possible choices.

Here are 10 easy steps for a signature with logo. Use either
a .jpg or .gif for the logo - NOT .bmp. Don't use Word, it adds
a bunch of uneeded junk code.

1) I really like Irfanview for almost everything to do with
image files. It is freeware or you can donate, go get it and
download the plug-ins as well. IrfanView - Official Homepage
'IrfanView - Official Homepage - one of the most popular viewer
worldwide' (http://www.irfanview.com/)

Use that to resize your logo. Forget about the byte size.
Just make it an acceptable pixel size for your signature.
(Almost) Any size picture will work. Use it to convert your
.bmp to .jpg or .gif.

2) You must use HTML format, not Plain Text.
WM->Tools->Options->Send Tab->HTML Button

3) Open up a new email. Type the text, exactly how you
want your signature to appear. Choose color/font/size.

4) Position your cursor where you want your logo. Click
insert->picture. Adjust logo if necessary.

5) There should be 3 buttons at the very bottom of the
email. Click Source. You are now looking at the HTML
source code that you need. Alternately you can use
CTRL F2 to see the source code.

6) Open Notepad (Start->Programs->Accessories)

7) Copy the relevant code from the email into Notepad.
That will include everything between these two lines of code:
--------------------------------------------------------------
<BODY bgColor=#ffffff> xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xx
</BODY></HTML>
--------------------------------------------------------------

<DIV><STRONG><FONT face=Verdana color=#008000 size=2>
VistaRookie, owner</FONT></STRONG>
<DIV><IMG src="C:\Logo.jpg"></FONT></DIV>

For this example, it means I have chosen Verdana, Bold,
Green for the text. The image, called Logo.jpg is on my
root C:\ folder. It is going to say VistaRookie, owner
with the logo below the text.

8) Save that code in Notepad as Signature.HTM.
Check the file when you save it because Notepad will
want to make it a .TXT file.

I recommend, although not necessary, saving both the
HTM file (Signature.htm) and the Logo (Logo.jpg)
together in the same folder. You can save them to any
folder you want. You need to use the full path to
whatever folder you choose.

9) Open Windows Mail->Tools->Options->Signatures Tab.
Go down to where it says Signatures, click New. You can
rename it if you want. Then go to where it says Edit
Signature. Click file. Click the browse button and navigate
to where you saved the file, signature.HTM. Apply. OK.

10) Go to the top of the Signatures Tab and check or
uncheck general settings as you want them. Your
signature should appear - same as it was when you
originally created it. For testing purposes, you can click
Insert on the email menu and choose signature.

Thanks VistaRookie,

You solved my whole problem. I now have a signature PLUS the body text of my
mail starts in the font and size of my desire.
