Appointment Notes Truncated

Please help,

If I make an appointment on my Axim X30 and add notes in the note sectopn of
the appointment the notes ar lost as soon as I sync. On the Axim the notes
read [Message Truncated], on Outlook notes are blank.

I am running Windows XP SP2 on the PC, Active Sync 3.7.1, On axim Win Mobile
2003 SE. I have reinstalled Outlook, and ActiveSync, Done a hard reset on
the Axim and sync'd with no other software installed on the Axim and still
the same problem.

I can make notes in Outlook and sync to Axim and everything is fine...it
only happens with notes made on the Axim and syncd to PC. It only happens
to Appointment notes as well, Notes made by simply tapping "Note" on the
axim sync fine.

I have latest Active Sync, Up to date Win XP and latest Update for Axim.

I should also note that my Business partner is having the same problem on
his PC with the same setup, and same schedule as me. It is almost like our
schedule is too big or something and active sync deletes the notes. Lots of
available memory on the PPC though and I only sync future appointments...Is
there a limit to the size of notes available in the appointments?

Hi,
How long are the notes that you are referring to? There's a limit to the
internal database for fields of 64k bytes and all notes are stored as
Unicode. So it would be approximately 32k bytes. Is that the length issue
you are running into?

It will do it to notes regardless of the size. My longets notes would not
reach the size limit. Just things like name address etc.

Now that you mentioned it I went back and reduced my notes as much as
possible using short forms for words and removing redundant information and
guess what...It doesn't do it.

My combined notes must be over the limit. I am surprised because it really
isn't that much information but I guess it's enough.

So I guess my solution is to not sync as many weeks or try and keep notes to
a minimum...unless some one knows how to increase the limit size??

It's a pain in the neck either way as I really need all my appointments with
me. Hopefully this will be increased in future releases.

Does anyone know if this is an active sync operation or a PPC operation that
is causing this?
