Ok,

So it seems MANY people are having problems with the updates that came out
april 12th - So far I have discovered 3 problems on multiple machines (all
with Win Firewall off)

1) Not all websites are being viewed correctly - Some cannot be at all,
others hang half way through (i.e. clicking next after doing a google search).
2) Remote desktop cannot connect to an updated machine across a network
(i.e. from 192.168.2.xxx to 192.168.1.xxx connected through a firewall). You
can initially connect, but get nothing but a blank screen.
3) Other remote control software can not be used (i.e. Timbuktu) - partial
connection is establish, but never fully connects.

Looking at the about issues, I believe that I have an idea of what is wrong.
To me it seems that the issue is either:

A) A problem with the MTU packet size
B) A problem with EDNS

Does anyone know if either of the two options were modified in ANY way
through the recent updates?

Sorry, can't help, but more concerning than what you mentioned are all the
dead machnes people are reporting, what seems like more than the usual
smattering. I really wish there was a site that tracked these sorts of
things and attempted to draw some common denominators. I guess it's too much
to ask tiny MS to throw resources at such an effort.

I believe the problemis the security update KB893066. After I had installed
all the updates, the next night my ie started not going to web site. I did a
restore to before the update and everything was back to normal. Since then I
have installed all updates except the KB893066 and things seem to still be
working fine. I know more as time goes, since the problem slowly started.

After you apply security update 893066, you may notice that the performance
of the network decreases.

(Yep - the article is for Windows 2000... Makes me wonder if something
similar is happening in Windows XP?)
