Arrange Icons

I have Windows 98 first edition. All of the files in my folders were always
arranged alphabetically. One day, all of the files in my folders appeared in
a random order. Now, when I click on "arrange icons" and then "sort by name,"
the files line up in reverse order (from Z to A). And if I close the folder,
when I go back to it, the files appear in random order again.
