Hi,

A friend has Vista and I have sent him a file of the Earth from space.

He has tried to open it but he gets asked for a product key for office.
He has put in his Vista key but no go.

How can he play this pps file please.

Tell your friend to Google "powerpoint viewer" and to download one.

Your friend may have an unactivated or expired trial edition of Microsoft
Office. In neither case entering the Windows Vista key will be of any help,
he needs a valid Office key.

Alternatively, your friend can download and install the PowerPoint Viewer.
It will allow him to view the presentation, but not edit it or create a new
one:

Hi Rock,

It is asking him for his Microsoft Office personal key number and not
the Vista product key number. These are not the same. If he has a OEM
(Ex: Hell, HP, etc...) computer, then they will sometimes come with just
a trial version of Office and it will ask you for the product key when
the trial period is over. He will then have to purchase it unless he
already has, or enter the product key number to continue using it.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Thanks guys..

He didn't want MS Office as he has no use for it, it must have been a
trial in with Vista when he bought it. I will help him get the pps
viewer down as that is all he needs.

Thanks again
