No. No Product Key (serial) is needed when installing Vista. There is no
need to tie a license with the image, at all.

I cannot remember if you need to supply a key for installing Office, but you
most probably have to. You could use a particular key on the image, and
then change it after installation, but it does not seem to be a very quick
operation.

Alternatively, you can search Google to find out how to make an 'unattended
install' of Vista, which is the proper way an OEM would do this, but it is
pretty complicated, and not something that I know much about.
