You need to get the Vista driver for your video card from the mfg.
IS it the 9600 All-In- Wonder card?
You might check this link:

Strange because we have one box running a 9600xt 256megs AGP using the
latest ATI drivers downloaded from their site with no problems at all.
It's even oc'ed but it is on a regular CRT monitor.
You said you're running a 50inch flat TV and that is may be your problem
as you more than likely you don't have the correct monitor profile file
for it.
Also is your card a PCI or AGP, is not all that clear in your original
message.
As for loading the CD drivers not a good idea cause they're proly not
for Vista.
Try clearing your temps and reloading the ATI web site file.
Let us know.

No, not necessarily. Have you tried the MSI site for updated drivers as
ATI suggested?

yes Frank i'v also tried the MSI site for their DRivers & it downloaded some
software that checked my PC for missing driver,it DID find a Driver missing &
installed it,had to re-boot & on re-boot failed to start, same as the ATI
driver..the screen freezes up & there are little red dashes across the
welcome screen.it's not caused by the PC being plugged into the TV because iv
tried another monitor,with same result.
the card is PCI.
thanks for all your help, lol but i dont think this can be resolved without
buying a new card...strange because the same card work's on my other HD that
has XP Pro on it!

No that was real freaking helpful. If the guy can figure out how to
get to the usenet, he can problem find a manufacter's web site.

As much as I love to stay out of Frank Vrs. the world, this attack was
totally uncalled for and I couldn't stay quiet.

Your comment to Frank about not being helpfull was in reality more helpful
then yours to the OP

Nowhere did Frank say or do anything to warrant this other then you guys
hate him so much you have to comment even if he makes a valid suggestion.

Yes the OP should try and download the newest drivers for his video card
from ATI and nowhere in his post did he state he tried that. It is an
assumption that the OP should know to check the Manufactures website if he
knows how to post in a newsgroup.

People I agree, argue until your blue in the face when someone especially
Frank makes a combative remark. But when someone attempts to be helpful and
not say anything negative, even if it is Frank..........you shouldn't say
things like this all it does is make any further comments you say less
likely to be taken serious even if it is a valid point your making.
