atikmdag failure notices in Vista

Does anybody have any idea as to why I am getting the atikmdag failure
notices in Vista?
Same configuration in XP without problems!

Message: Atikmdag has stopped responding and has successfully recovered.

Some Windows Vista functions may not work, or Windows Vista may stop

Hmmm, hate to diasagree with you on that, I just installed a 4670 car
to replace 8600 gt that was getting display driver has stoppe
responding and has successfully recovered. So same basic problem o
both ATI and NVIDIA. A friend has a Toshiba laptop with INTEL video an
she gets same error too. So, for me, that suggests a Microsoft issu
rather than ATI driver issu
