I have a newish laptop with Windows Vista, mostly preinstalled settings. I
use Outlook Express as my e-mail.

I asked for a lengthy document from a friend; it was sent via e-mail. I
opened it and made changes. I then said "save as", and navigated up from
the place it showed up in temp file to a document file, client file, etc.
I saved there.

I then went back to the original e-mail (outlook) trying to reopen the
attachment so I could save the original document sent to me without changes.
It opens the one with the changes instead. I've closed out both programs,
opened them again, to see if it is just a random error of not remembering
which document to retrieve No luck.

I really don't want my incoming e-mail to have the changed document created
from the attachment!!! Help please.

You should probably save the original first and then save the edited document
with a new name.
