Attention Maurice....Update scans and scans

Hi Maurice,
I followed your procedures and had some glitches. First, I am running
Windows XP Home with SP2 and am logged in with admin privs. The glitches
were as follows:

Could not rename Catroot2 because file was in use or I didn't have access. I
booted to Safe mode and renamed and restarted.

In your IE procedure, the system told me that addresses to be added in the
zone require https prefixes.

When I went back into WU to check update history, it said I hadn't done any
updates.

After returning to WU, it scans interminably. Control Panel says updates are
all installed (as compared with another computer).

Hopefully you have some more ideas.
