Barb thanks for your reply, I remember you helping me once before with a
problem. I did everything you suggested but still have no audio with tv or
with play back of recorded video on Window Media Center, but I have audio
when I used Windows Media Player and watch video recorded with Windows Media
Center .

I went back as far as I could with restore but I am not sure it's a point
where I had audio. I do not recall any recent installations or changes which
would have caused the problem. Thanks for making me aware there is a group
for Windows Media Player. I have not visited the links you listed I will
check them out as time permits. Thanks again for your help and I would like
to hear from anyone who has experienced a similar problem, especially if
they have found a solution.

Please post your reply to the dedicated newsgroup for Media Center

First, can you try a system restore to a point where sound was
working properly?

Did you install any new programs? Were there driver updates that you
installed?

what version of Windows are you using?
does your sound applet in control panel have a separate setting for
Media Center and is it muted? are you set up for two channel audio
or something else?

Thanks for the help. When I went to sound and hardware in the control panel
I saw where Media Center was muted. I think my trouble in located this came
from the fact that I was using "Classic View" in my control panel and it
only give me an option for sound or at least that was all I could find and
it didn't show anything muted. When I got away from the classic view it was
easy to locate the problem.
