Audio Problems Live Messenger

When I ry to use Live Messenger I can see and hear my contacts, they however
can see me but do not receive audio. I have reinstalled Messenger to no
avail. Skype works ok with audio both ways albeit at a poorer quality,
therefore my set up appears ok
Any suggestions please?
