We can't see your computer - approximately where is this information
showing up ? I guess you could double click the video to go fullscreen
to hide all properties, if you're using windows media player.

It is 3 lines of text along the top of the picture. It appears to be a
setting in Media Player to display this info, but I can't find how to turn it
off. The text is there on every video I watch in MP, but is not present when
the same files are played in other players.

The text states;
"Audio Track:
Input Description: 22050 Hz, mono 64kbps mp
Current input bitrate: 64 kbps"

Obviously the numbers may vary depending on the file I'm watching.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Brett

That's FFDShow (a third party codec) which has an OSD "on screen
display" setting. To turn that off, either check the FF... icon next
to the windows clock (right click to select its menus)

Or in WMP, go to the small dropdown menu below Now Playing, click More
Options -> DVD -> Advanced, then disable the OSD from there

I am having exactly the same problem - can't turn off green text with audio
input data appearing on my display.

I tried the solutions suggested by Neil, but they seem to have no effect.

When I right-click on the Windows clock, I get Taskbar and Menu Properties,
but nothing re FFDShow or OSD.

From WMP, I have viewed the FFDShow properties and tried various OSD
settings. I've tried making changes to fonts, locations, color, etc., and
"Apply" the changes, but nothing I do has any effect. So I still have the
shadowed green text running constantly in the upper left corner of my
display. I just want to turn the text off, and still can't figure out how to
do that.

Thanks for any help I can get on this.

If you look for the ffdshow folder in the Start Menu, and launch Audio
decoder settings, is the OSD option checked there? If that doesn't help,
do the same for Video decoder settings.
