Is it possible to make messenger play a long audio file on my computer when
a particular friend logs in on theirs.

I know it goes ding! but if I am downstairs then I easily miss it.

Greetings,

With just Messenger, no. However, using Messenger Plus Live you can do this pretty simply.

You can grab Messenger Plus here @ http://www.msgpluslive.net. Be aware that there is
an -optional- sponsor program included with Plus which prompts you during the setup to either
install or not. You do not need to install the sponsor program to install Plus.

To get to the exact feature after installation, just right-click a contact, choose Messenger
Plus! Features, Events Notifications, Create New Notification. Select when the user signs
in, click Next and choose a sound there.
